Sarah & Mike – 9/14/13

There are a lot of fun elements from this wedding that stand out from me…it was an adorable day! Sarah & Mike hosted their ceremony and reception at the Day Block Building – such a great city venue. 🙂 Guests grabbed a drink before finding a seat for the ceremony and the Groom’s father officiated – making things extra personable.  The bride was so relaxed all day – it made it easy for everyone to have a good time. After the big kiss, the couple’s string instrument-playing-friends played “Bad Romance” as they exited the ceremony site…so fun! Cocktail hour took place while the room flipped into reception – some simple mason jar centerpieces and lights strung on the ceiling was all they needed….oh – and tables named after Star Wars references. Dinner was Pizza Luce…who doesn’t love that? And dessert was donuts from a favorite bakery…including a special one for the Bride & Groom with Star Wars action figures as a “topper.” The photographer opened up a popular “un-photo booth” after dinner and the group enjoyed micro-brews and dancing all night. Congrats, Sarah & Mike!

Cara & Ben – 6/1/2013

Cara & Ben were such a fun couple to work with. They had creative minds paired with a true excitement about the real meaning of the day – getting married! Their day began at the beautiful Our Lady of Lourdes church in Northeast Minneapolis – where their family & friends watched them finally become man & wife. I’m not going to lie, I’ve cried at every one of my weddings – but I’m usually able to hold off until at least toasts or first dance. But at this one however – the photographer had no qualms about calling me out when I started tearing up already in the middle of the ceremony! 🙂 I just love love. 🙂 Anyway – the ceremony was beautiful, and the Bride was definitely beaming the whole time…and she looked radiant in her floral crown. The guys weren’t too bad either – in their bow ties and vests. Good work, guys.

Guests were welcomed to the Day Block Building for the reception – such a unique and “blank slate” place that is fun to dress up to your liking. With food by Brasa – guests were sure to be taken care of in the food department, too! They found their seats by matching the state on their escort card to the state in the centerpiece of the table (and no, I had no problems calling on my geography skills while trying to figure out which way the state cut-out was to stand :)). A unique decor element that this couple used was cakes – cakes on every  guest table! There was plenty to go around and it was a fun way to get guests to mingle and share. Some of the best toasts/speeches I’ve heard came from the bridal party and the couple – they have such a sweet story. With a signature drink that combined their two last names and the music stylings of Midwest Sound – the reception was good to go.

Congratulations, Cara & Ben!

Sarah & Lee – 5/18/12

Sarah & Lee wanted to make sure their day went effortlessly while they enjoyed every moment without worrying about every wonderful detail they had planned. For a mid-May day, the weather sure did cooperate (and then some!) with a high of 90! Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Mt. Olivet – where elegance exudes from the chapel. The light-hearted wedding party kept things fun as the day unfolded. There ceremony was a beautiful reflection of the couple – including a stunning duet of “The Prayer.” After vows were shared and rings exchanged, the party started at the Day Block Building – a space above Minneapolis’ new restaurant, Spill the Wine. Guests were greeted with complimentary valet service – what a nice touch to accommodate your guests! The building has such a cool, loft-like, downtown feel. Decor included hanging votive lanterns, wine cork everything and lace to add a soft feel. Escort cards were displayed on shutters (guests commented on the uniqueness all night!) and table numbers were named after significant places in the couple’s life (hometowns, favorite restaurants, etc.). After a tasty family-style meal and some touching toasts (including one by one of the bride’s brothers), guests were treated to a fun dessert buffet of cupcakes, cake pops, chocolate, fruit tarts and more. The DJ kept the dancing going all night with lots of fun hits and guests complimented the food, venue, flowers and couple all night! 🙂

The Line-Up:

Sarah & Lee wrote the following review:

“Meredith Meyer helped me with my day-of-planning for my wedding and was exceptional. She is extremely thorough and helped with the stress of the little things that can add up. Her planning and itinerary made the day of the wedding smooth and I would recommend her to anyone.”
